Netflix Movie Review – Background To Movie

Murder On The Cape is based on the 2002 murder of New York fashion writer Christa Worthington. Christa’s affair with a local fisherman did not go over too well in the small town.  The fisherman broke off the affair after a couple of months but Christa could not let it go.  Watch for yourself and compare the movie with the investigative reports from 20/20.

There are a couple of themes that stood out for me from this movie:

  • Vindictiveness of women
  • Stupidity of men
  • Honesty in relationships
  • Poor communication in relatioships
  • Fury of a scorned man or woman
  • Poor conflict resolution skills in relationships

More Themes From Murder On The Cape

  • The effect money problems can have on a relationship
  • Power of friendship
  • Power of forgiveness
  • Awful mistakes humans make at times
  • Importance of listening
  • The devastating effects of selfishness

Murder On The Cape is a very powerful movie although I think it ended rather abruptly. If you do get a chance, please watch this movie. This might sound weird, but the movie could be a cautionary tale for couples everywhere. One small indiscretion can lead to a lifetime of regrets, so this might serve as a reminder to all of us to tread carefully on this earth. Please share your thoughts in the comments section if you have already watched this move or let is know if we have convinced you to grab some popcorn and start watching.
