As an avid blogger and entrepreneur I was super excited to review this book. I secretly hoped it was not another book that would make me roll my eyes. I find that many of these books that make a lot of promises to bloggers just do not deliver, so I went in gingerly. After the first couple of pages I sat up straight because this author was really getting into it and I was impressed.

If you are going to find success with social networks, you need to know the secrets of successfully networking online.

In my mind, this was not a book I was reading just for pleasure. I wanted to see what information I could find within these pages that would help me do a better job at what I was already doing. I needed insight to take my business to another level and secretly I hoped that this book would help.

Penny starts at the very beginning by giving general information about social media. I loved the statistics at the very beginning that gave a breakdown of the amount of users on the top eight social media channels. That way you get a feel of where you should really be spending your time as a blogger.

The author breaks down things like the best times for posting, and the best types of content to share in order to be an effective blogger.  She shares these and other secrets to social networking success in a manner that made me want to keep reading. Sansevieri mowed down the myth that we need to be on every social media site in order to succeed. That kind of spoke to me because I always thought it was too much pressure to try to be all things to all people.

Targeting your audience is critical for networking success.

Being focused on one social media site will help you gain more traction in the right place instead of spinning your wheels dabbling in a bunch of different social media sites that aren’t benefitting you

This book is a must read for any blogger who needs a little heads up about internet marketing.   Whether you are a beginner, or somewhere in the middle this can be a great resource to add to your shelf.

Thanks for sharing. I rarely have time to read these days and I certainly don’t want to waste my time on books full of useless fluff. I’ll check this one out.

  8. I could really use it, I guess. I am about to fail for the first time on a linquia campaign. I haven’t been on the blog so much as usual and it’s showing with click throughs and visit numbers. I wish I could advertise in such a way that traffic would still come even when I’m too busy to be present.

  23. Christine says:

This sounds like a really helpful read. I just wonder how long it will hold true. Social media is constantly changing and what works the best to get yourself out there changes too.

    • Christine that is true but for each period something holds true. The thing is some of these things can hold true no matter what other changes there are. Being on too many platforms can be exhausting and that I think will hold true no matter what else is going on

  24. goodchildreb says:

Good point. Focusing on one platform does have the added benefit of sanity 😉 Trying to keep up with good content across multiple platforms is stressful.

  25. goodchildreb says:

Have you found this book’s content to be true in your own personal experience with blogging?

    • Goodchildreb…actually yes. I had to smile when she talked about trying to be everywhere at once. I just thought it was necessary like I would be missing someone if I was not everywhere. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense and I am going to not try to cover them all because it is very tiring
