Breathtaking Train Rides

Grand Canyon Railway

Watch a remarkable world go by as you tour the countryside from the comforts of your classic train car. See the terrain change from high desert to prairie, prairie to pine. It’s a view that’s ever-changing until you come across a view so brilliant, it could very well change you. Welcome to the Grand Canyon.

Napa Valley Wine Train

The Napa Valley Wine Train was established to preserve a piece of history for future generations. With 100 year old rail cars and a 150 year old rail corridor, the Wine Train proudly continues railroading traditions that are disappearing on the American landscape. For over 25 years, guests from around the world have been experiencing history in the stunning setting of Napa Valley.

Denali Star, Alaska

If you’re looking for a relaxing trip to Denali National Park, consider riding the Denali Star. The scenery and small-town history along the way will bring you back to a different place in time.

Durango and Silverton, Colorado

Durango, Colorado was founded by the Denver & Rio Grande Railway in 1879. The railroad arrived in Durango on August 5, 1881 and construction on the line to Silverton began in the fall of the same year. By July of 1882, the tracks to Silverton were completed, and the train began hauling both freight and passengers.

California Zephyr

Long considered one of the most scenic routes in the United States, the California Zephyr takes you from the beautiful city of Chicago to the City by the Bay, San Francisco, by way of the spectacular Rockies and Sierras.

Cass Scenic Railroad

Nestled in the mountains of West Virginia, Cass Scenic Railroad State Park offers excursions that transport you back in time to relive an era when steam-driven locomotives were an essential part of everyday life.

Arkansas and Missouri Railroad

The Arkansas & Missouri Railroad (A&M) was established in 1986 as a Class III Railroad operating a 150 mile route from Monett, Missouri to Fort Smith, Arkansas.  A&M’s corporate headquarters is located in Springdale, Arkansas; major operations are based there and Fort Smith.

Railways played a major role in the past 100 years which should not be forgotten. Train travel once in a while is true stress buster. I liked this post 🙂
