Legitimate comments are so hard to find these days!

Legitimate comments

Psst…Guys Over Here…to be honest “Great Post” is not really a legitimate comment if that is all you are saying.  Especially when it becomes a pattern people see right through you.

Now I am not here to call out anyone, I am saying we all need to do better than that. I am not saying anything is wrong with saying a post is great but we need to go a little further than that.

In most cases “Great Post” and nothing else can be counted as spam. It does not do much for the blog of the person and it also makes you look like you are trying to pull one over on the blogger.  As I said before, I am speaking to all of us to think about what we write.

Let us do unto others as we would have them do unto us.  If we are not careful this can turn into something unpleasant and that takes away the social aspect of the entire experience.  Let us not just respond because we want someone to respond in return. If the post does not genuinely speak to you then move on to something that does.

It is not hard to write at least a sentence when a subject genuinely resonates with you.  Search for things that interest you and comment on those so you can provide a substantial comment.  I don’t want the community to have to resort to a lot of rules and regulations to keep us in line because that will totally take away from the experience.

Even though legitimate comments are so hard to find these days, let us avoid spamming  by making substantial legitimate comments in the future.  I am positive we can do better!

Thanks for your time

Great post ??. I completely agree. If you read the post and it wasn’t something you liked or had interest in. Don’t leave a comment. The problem is if you participate in a blogging group the admins make it MANDATORY that you leave a comment so that’s why you end up with great post. Better than meh being left I guess.

Tammy you could not resist that “great post”. I agree with you. that is the reason I have abandoned the facebook groups that require MANDATORY comments. Even when I am mandated to comment I still try to find something substantial to say.
