Would You Want to Supervise You?
Okay so here is the question of the day. Based on how you operate at work, would you be happy to supervise you? If the honest answer cannot be a resounding YES then you need to pull up your socks.
As workers we must never be respecter of persons. You may not like the person who is in charge but it is very important that you show respect to this person and carry out your responsibilities in a professional manner. Now I understand that sometimes some of these persons can be unreasonable and if this gets out of hand then please use the proper channels to sort this out.
On a daily basis, try to carry out your duties in a respectful manner and be sure to pull your weight around the department. Be careful that you are not being passive aggressive. This seems to be the one thing that many workers gravitate towards when they do not like the person who is supervising.
At the end of the day this is the person who will evaluate you and you cannot get upset if that person is fair in their reporting. Practice becomes perfect and even if you are not happy with this job that does not prevent you from doing your best. Remember that if you are looking to move to another job this can prevent you from doing so. Many times your future employer will call your last supervisor even if you do not use them as a reference.
Are you showing up to work on time and if you were to be paid only for the work you actually did, how much would you go home with. As I said before based on your actions at work would you jump at the opportunity to supervise you?
