Christianity

Ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters in Christ it is time for us to stop fighting denominational wars.  If what we are saying is true then we are serving the same God.  So instead of fighting each other or trying to prove who is right and who isn’t, how about we use that same energy to tell others about the good news?

We should not be so focused on getting people to come to our church because that is not the great commission.  We should be more focused on getting persons to come to Christ if what we are saying is true.  If we are all serving the same God what does it matter which denomination we walk through to get there?

I am very concerned about persons who insist on pushing denomination over salvation.   Our main focus is to tell others about salvation’s plan and not to try to get other Christians to join our church.   It is very comical to see the many Christians who are trying to “evangelize” persons who are already saved just so that they can join their church.  I am sure the devil is having a field day with this.If he can get us to be so preoccupied with winning members for our church rather than souls for the kingdom then his work here is done.

Brothers and sisters let us think often and seriously about this.  Are we looking for church members or souls for the kingdom?

  1. Jonathan Key says:

It’s important to remember that Jesus is the only way. I believe we all share same faith who believe in the deity of Jesus, the virgin birth, the blood atonement by Jesus at the cross, the bodily resurrection of Jesus, and the inerrancy of the scriptures themselves.

Sometimes we as Believers love to argue over non-essentials and forget to focus on the above non-negotiables. It’s frustrated and sad really at times. Yet God is in control. God is alive and well. He is bringing glory to His name!

This is a great post and reminder! Kind of makes me think of these two quotes.

“Your theological convictions are not too strong but too weak if you can’t be friends with someone whose convictions are different from yours.” – Tullian Tchividjian

“We must not seek to bind the consciences of other Believers with the private convictions that arise out of our personal walk with God. Even if you believe God has led you in developing those convictions, you still must not elevate them to the level of spiritual principles for everyone else to follow.” – Jerry Bridges

YES! We need to be preaching the Gospel of Grace, NOT denominations!!!

  3. Amen! We should be more concerned with heaven and not bickering the small stuff.

So true! Love this post. It is so much more about souls for the Kingdom rather than members for our personal church. Thank you for speaking your mind on this and not being ashamed to speak truth!

  6. I am with you here. We should identify ourselves as Christian rather than Baptist, or Catholic, or whatever.
