Best Scholarships International Students

So what are the best scholarships international students can expect to find when they begin looking to study abroad?

Even before you are accepted it might be worth it to start thinking about how you will pay for your studies.  Some persons might be fortunate enough to have someone who can pay the fees but I think it is safe to say many will need another way.   If you are working I suggest that you start saving towards this and preferably save in US dollars.

Please see part 1 for additional information

As an International student you are expected to pay full tuition and this can be very expensive.  As discussed in part 1, a good score on the SAT, GRE or GMAT can give you a free ride because the top schools will be more than willing to offer you funding based on your scores.  If that does not work there are other ways to fund your education.

If you have the patience, you can find a lot of assistance that many people overlook because they do not take the time to explore.   Take some time to explore a few schools to see what they have to offer International Students.  There are some universities that do not offer any funding for International Students so unless you have the funds to spare then steer clear of those schools. Most financial aid to International Students is merit based so be warned!

Do not be afraid to contact the schools and let them know that you will need funding in order to attend.  If funding is offered, be sure to get the offer in writing before doing anything and find out the duration of the funding.   You will not be issued the 1-20 if you cannot prove that you have sufficient funds to cover your expenses so please bear that in mind.

International Students are allowed to work 20 hours per week but there is no guarantee that you will find a job as you have to work on the campus.   Sometimes if there are extenuating circumstances you will be allowed to work off campus during the semester.  During the breaks you are free to work off campus but you will still need permission to do so.  You can choose not to attend summer school and use this period to work to save for the next semesters.

Please see below for scholarships and loans that are available to International Students.  This list will be updated periodically so please check back often for updates:
